The SPD-SX and SPD-SX Special Edition (SE) allow two pads to be connected to a single TRIG IN jack (1/2 or 3/4) using a stereo insert cable. Roland's PCS-31L or RCC-TR28 series cables are compatible and available from Roland dealers.
Note: When two pads are connected to one TRIG IN jack, only head shots are available. Rim shots cannot be used in this configuration. Refer to "External Pad Settings (TRIG IN)" in the owner's manual for details.
To set up dual pad connection, follow these steps.
- Connect the two "Y" ends of the stereo insert cable to each pad.
- Connect the single stereo end of the cable to a TRIG IN jack (1/2 or 3/4).
- On the SPD-SX, go to MENU → SETUP → TRIG IN.
- Set INPUT MODE to TRIGx2.
- Set the Trigger Type for each connected pad as needed.
- Press the KIT button to return to the main screen.
Settings are saved automatically.
