The following procedure will guide you through setting up and recording an external stereo instrument or audio device using the 1/4" inputs of the BR-800.
- Lower the BR-800’s MASTER fader.
- Connect the left and right outputs of your instrument into the 1/4" inputs 1 and 2 on the back panel of the BR-800.
Note: This may require adapter cables (e.g. RCA to 1/4" if the outputs of your instrument are RCA). - Connect speakers to the red and white LINE OUT jacks of the BR-800 or headphones to the headphone jack of the BR-800.
- Turn up the volume of your external speakers.
- Press the MENU button.
- Use the Cursor arrow buttons to select “INPUT SELECT”and then press ENTER.
- Use the Cursor arrow buttons and the data dial to make the following settings on the screen:
INPUT : INPUT 1 & 2
MODE : STEREO REC
- Press EXIT twice.
- Turn up the volume of your external instrument to a desired volume level and then begin playing the instrument.
- On the BR-800, adjust the INPUT SENS knobs for inputs 1 and 2 so that their red PEAK indicators light only briefly at the loudest sounds of playing your instrument.
- Turn the REC LEVEL knob to the 12 o’clock position, and then slowly raise the MASTER fader.
- Press one of the stereo track REC buttons (i.e. 5/6 or 7/8) to select the track on which recording will occur. Be sure that the selected button is lit solid red and not blinking.
- Press REC and then press PLAY. Recording will begin.
- Press STOP to stop recording.
