DUO-CAPTURE EX, UA-22: Setting Up as the Default Audio Interface for Your Computer

The following article will guide you through setting up the DUO-CAPTURE EX as the default audio interface for your computer's operating system. This will allow programs that use your computer's sound settings to output audio through the DUO-CAPTURE EX (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc).

NOTE: Be sure to connect speakers or headphones directly to the DUO-CAPTURE EX and not to your computer's installed soundcard.

Windows 8:

1. Move your mouse to the top-right of the desktop screen. The Charms bar appears on the right hand side of the screen.

2. Click on "Settings".

3. Select Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.

4. Select Sound. The Sound window will appear.

5. In the Playback tab, select the DUO-CAPTURE EX (or UA-22) and then click on "Set Default".

6. Click on "Apply" and then click on "OK".

Windows Vista, and Windows 7:

1. Click on the Windows (or Start) icon on the bottom left of the screen.

2. Select Control Panel.

3. On the top right of the Control Panel window, select "View by..." as "Small Icons."

4. Open the Sounds devices icon.

5. Under playback device, select the DUO-CAPTURE EX (or UA-22).

6. Click on Set as Default and then click on OK.

Windows XP:

1. Click on the Start icon on the bottom left of the screen.

2. Select Control Panel.

3. On the left margin of the Control Panel, select "Switch to Classic View".

4. Open the Sounds and Audio devices icon.

5. Select the Audio tab.

6. Under Sound Playback, select the DUO-CAPTURE EX (or UA-22).

7. Click on Apply and then OK.

Mac OS X:

1. Click on the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

2. Click on Sound.

3. Click on the OUTPUT tab and then select the DUO-CAPTURE EX (or UA-22).
