When recording in audio software (e.g. Sonar, Pro Tools, Logic), the sample rate of the V-STUDIO 100's hardware must match the sample rate of the software's project that you are working on (e.g. 44.1kHz, 48kHz or 96kHz). If you are receiving an error message such as "The default audio is not compatible with one or more sound cards" when attempting to record in your software, the sample rate of the V-STUDIO 100 will likely need to be changed. The following will guide you through this procedure:
- Look in your recording software's project settings to determine the sample rate of the project that you are working on.
NOTE: If you are using the Cakewalk Sonar VS software included with the V-STUDIO 100, the following will show you how to check this:
a. In Sonar VS, click on Options and then select Audio.
b. In the General tab, the currently selected project's sample rate will appear in next to "Sampling Rate". - Close down your recording software.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the V-STUDIO 100
- Press and hold the DISPLAY button for two seconds. The UTILITY screen appears.
- Use the CURSOR/VALUE dial to select "Sample Freq".
- Press the CURSOR/VALUE dial inward and then turn the dial to select the correct sample rate. NOTE: An asterisk ("*") symbol will appear next the new selection indicating that you will need to restart the unit before the change can take effect; we will do this in a moment.
- Press the CURSOR/VALUE dial inward and then turn the dial to select "STORAGE".
- Press the CURSOR/VALUE dial inward and then turn the dial counterclockwise to "OFF" (unless this is already OFF).
- Power off the V-STUDIO 100 and then power back on. Your V-STUDIO 100 will be out of storage mode and is now set to the correct sample rate.
- Reopen your recording software's project and you may now begin recording.
