The TD-15 and TD-11 allow you to assign a fixed closed hi-hat sound to the hi-hat pad without pressing the hi-hat control pedal. This is useful when the foot normally used for the hi-hat is needed for another purpose, such as operating a second bass drum pedal.
There are five available settings: NORMAL, FIXED 1, FIXED 2, FIXED 3, and FIXED 4.
- NORMAL allows the hi-hat sound to change according to pedal position.
- FIXED 1 produces the tightest closed sound.
As the number increases, the sound becomes progressively more open, with FIXED 4 being the most open-sounding.
Here's how to access this feature.
- Select a drum kit to edit.
- Press the [MENU] button.
The KIT MENU screen will appear. - Press the [F1] (INST) button.
The INST screen will appear. - Strike the hi-hat pad to select it.
- Press the [F2] (EDIT) button.
- Use the cursor buttons to scroll to “Fixed HH.”
- Turn the dial to select the desired setting (NORMAL, FIXED 1–4).
- Press [EXIT] repeatedly to return to the main screen.
The selected setting is automatically saved for each kit. Repeat the procedure for any other kits you wish to modify.
