The following article will guide you through setting up the V-STUDIO 20 as the default audio interface for your computer's operating system. This will allow programs that use your computer's sound settings to output audio through the V-STUDIO 20 (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc).
NOTE:
- Be sure to connect speakers or headphones directly to the V-STUDIO 20 and not to your computer's installed soundcard.
- The V-STUDIO 20 driver must be installed on your computer prior to following the setup below. If you have not installed this driver, you may download and install the driver for your operating system by clicking here.
CONNECTIONS:
- Connect speakers to the L-OUTPUT-R jacks of the V-STUDIO 20 or headphones to the PHONES jack of the V-STUDIO 20.
- If you are using speakers, turn up the volume to the speakers.
NOTE: Do not connect the headphones or speakers to your computer but connect them directly to the V-STUDIO 20's headphone jack. - Adjust the DAW OUTPU knob to the 12 o'clock position--straight up.
- After you have setup the VS-20 using the steps below, you may use the OUTPUT level knob to adjust overall volume.
NOTE: Be sure to turn up the volume of the software that you are using (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc).
DRIVER SETUP:
Windows 8:

Move your mouse to the top-right of the desktop screen. The Charms bar appears on the right hand side of the screen.

Click on "Settings".

Select Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.

Select Sound. The Sound window will appear.

In the Playback tab, select the V-STUDIO 20 (or VS-20) and then click on "Set Default".

Click on "Apply" and then click on "OK".
Windows Vista, and Windows 7:

Click on the Windows (or Start) icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the top right of the Control Panel window, select "View by..." as "Small Icons."

Open the Sounds devices icon.

Under playback device, select the V-STUDIO 20 (or VS-20).

Click on Set as Default and then click on OK.
Windows XP:

Click on the Start icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the left margin of the Control Panel, select "Switch to Classic View".

Open the Sounds and Audio devices icon.

Select the Audio tab.

Under Sound Playback, select the V-STUDIO 20 (or VS-20).

Click on Apply and then OK.
Mac OS X:

Click on the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

Click on Sound.

Click on the OUTPUT tab and then select the V-STUDIO 20 (or VS-20).
