The following will guide you through connecting and setting up an external audio source such as a microphone, keyboard or drum machine:
- Turn off your external speakers and/or turn down (counter-clockwise) the headphone VOLUME knob on the V-STUDIO 100.
-
Set all of the V-STUDIO 100's channel knobs, including the PLAYBACK knob, to the 12 o'clock position (straight up).
- Connect your external device to the input(s) of your choice.
NOTE:
- If you have a condenser microphone that requires phantom power, be sure to set the PHANTOM switch to 48v on the back panel.
- Phantom power is supplied to the MIC (XLR) inputs only. -
Begin playing audio from your external connected device (i.e. sing into a connected microphone, play through a connected keyboard, etc).
-
Be sure that the V-STUDIO 100's input level (for the input that you have connected to) and OUT level meter are averaging around 5 or 6 bars.
If the input level is lower than 5 or 6 bars, raise the volume of your external connected device (e.g. keyboard, iPod, etc) or raise the knob for the microphone you have connected. This will ensure that you have good volume to work with. -
Turn down the volume setting on your speakers and then power them on (if applicable).
-
While audio is playing and the input and OUT level meters are averaging around 5 or 6 bars, raise the volume on your speakers until you hear a desired volume level.
-
You may now raise the VOLUME knob for the headphone volume (if applicable).
