When adding a COSM to an already recorded track, this effect does not actually get recorded onto the track. This is so that you can freely change the effect parameters or turn the effect on or off.
You can bounce (mix down) the track, with its effect, onto an available/empty track so that the effect is actually recorded onto a track. This is useful if you need to add different COSM Effects to more than one track or if you need to export tracks as WAV files with the effect included.
The following will guide you through recording the effect onto a track--also known as "stamping the effect".
I. ADDING AN EFFECT TO A DESIRED TRACK:
- Press the COSM EFFECTS button so that the "EFFECT" screen appears.
- CURSOR down to select "LOCATION" on the screen and then press ENTER.
- Turn the data dial to select the track that you would like to add the effect to. For example, if would like to add a COSM Effect to track 2, select "TRACK2".
- Press EXIT once.
- CURSOR up to the top of the page and then use the data dial to select the desired effect "BANK:".
- CURSOR to "PATCH:" and then turn the data dial to select a desired effect and then press ENTER..
- You may now use the CURSOR buttons and data dial to make the desired effect settings.
II. STAMPING THE EFFECT TO A TRACK.
- Press MENU.
- Cursor to "MASTERING," and then press ENTER.
- Turn the dial clockwise to set MASTERING to the ON position.
- Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen. The display shows the track(s) to which you'll be mastering underneath the word "MASTERING."
- Use the CURSOR buttons and data dial to change the MASTERING track to the track that you added a COSM Effect to in the "ADDING AN EFFECT TO A DESIRED TRACK" section above.
For example: If you added a COSM Effect to track 2 in the "ADDING AN EFFECT TO A DESIRED TRACK" section above, select "TR2" here:
Note: The image below is just an example: - Now, CURSOR to the right once and then turn the data dial to select an empty V.Track. Most likely, "V2" will be an empty track.
Note: The image below is just an example: - Lower the fader volume of every track except for the MASTER fader and the track's fader that you want to record the effect with. For example, if you have added an effect to track 2, lower the volume of all tracks except for track 2's fader and the MASTER FADER.
- Press the ZERO button to return to the beginning of your song.
- Press RECORD, and then press PLAY.
- When the song has finished playing, press STOP. A "PREVIEW" window will appear.
- Press PLAY to hear the track with the effect.
- Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen.
- To add effects to other tracks, repeat the steps above--starting with Step 1 in the "ADDING AN EFFECT TO A DESIRED TRACK".
III. PLAYING BACK STAMPED EFFECTED TRACKS
If you would like the track(s) that you have just recorded/stamped effects with to play back with other tracks:
- Press the MENU button.
- Cursor to "MASTERING," and then press ENTER.
- Turn the dial clockwise to set MASTERING to the OFF position.
