The following article will guide through setting up the OCTA-CAPTURE as the default audio interface for the computer's operating system. This will allow programs that use your computer's sound settings to output audio through the OCTA-CAPTURE (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, web browsers such as Firebox or Google Chrome, etc).
NOTE:
- Be sure to connect speakers or headphones directly to the OCTA-CAPTURE and not to your computer's installed soundcard.
- The OCTA-CAPTURE driver must be installed on your computer prior to following the setup below. If you have not installed this driver, you may download and install the driver for your operating system by clicking here:

Windows 10/11
- Right-click on the Volume icon in the quick settings panel (usually on the bottom right of the screen).
- Click on Open volume mixer from the context menu. You can also open the volume mixer from Settings > Sound > Volume mixer.
- In the Volume mixer window, click the drop-down for Output device and select OCTA-CAPTURE.
Windows 8:

Move your mouse to the top-right of the desktop screen. The Charms bar appears on the right hand side of the screen.

Click on "Settings".

Select Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.

Select Sound. The Sound window will appear.

In the Playback tab, select the "1-2" OCTA-CAPTURE (or UA-1010) and then click on "Set Default".

Click on "Apply" and then click on "OK".
Windows Vista, and Windows 7:

Click on the Windows (or Start) icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the top right of the Control Panel window, select "View by..." as "Small Icons."

Open the Sounds devices icon.

Under playback device, select the "1-2" OCTA-CAPTURE (or UA-1010).

Click on Set as Default and then click on OK.
Windows XP:

Click on the Start icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the left margin of the Control Panel, select "Switch to Classic View".

Open the Sounds and Audio devices icon.

Select the Audio tab.
-
Under Sound Playback, select the "1-2" OCTA-CAPTURE (or UA-1010).

Click on Apply and then OK.
macOS:

Click on the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

Click on Sound.

Click on the OUTPUT tab and then select the OCTA-CAPTURE (or UA-1010).
