The ME-80 has an AUX IN input that can be used to connect an external audio player (CD player, cell phone, etc.). This is great feature to use if you want play along with music. To do this, all you need is the correct cable to connect your audio player to the ME-80.
- Use your audio player’s volume control to control the volume of Gt. AMP OUTPUT jacks and REC OUT/
PHONES jack.
- If your audio player has an 1/8"(3.5mm) output connection, then you'll need a 1/8" "stereo" cable. This type of cable can be used to connect to your cell phone (iPhone etc.) or the headphones output on your computer.
Roland RCC-5-3535 Stereo Cable
- If your audio player has 1/4" connection for its output, you'll need a 1/4" -1/8" stereo cable.
Other cables are available as well, including RCA - 1/8" stereo.
Once you have chosen the correct cable, simply connect the appropriate end to your audio device, and the opposite (1/8") end to the AUX IN jack on the back panel of ME-80. Then, turn up the volume and press play on your audio player. Make sure you have headphones connected to the ME-80's PHONES/REC OUT jack or the GT.AMP L/MONO output is connected to your amp and the volume is up.
Note of Caution: Never connect the "powered" speaker output from an external mixer or other source to the AUX IN jack. Doing so can damage the ME-80.
