The following are internal and external hard drive (HDD) specifications for the VS-880.
- 2.5" IDE drive (Also known as Parallel ATA)
- 4 GB maximum
NOTES:
- Before using a new disk drive or a disk drive that has been previously used by another device, it is necessary to initialize the drive. This will enable it to be used with the VS-880. For details, please see the "Initializing a disk drive" section in the VS-880 Owner's Manual.
- Larger drives are not compatible and will not work.
- Any standard drive speed, buffer and cache specification is compatible.
- Recommended brands would be Maxtor, Seagate and IBM.
- The VS recorder formats the hard drive into a maximum of 1 GB partition size.
- Hard drives can be found at most electronic/computer stores or online. Due to the age of the VS recorder, Roland no longer carries these hard drives.
As this product has been discontinued for many years, Roland no longer stocks these hard drives and is unable to provide information on where they may be purchased.
