The TD-15 and TD-11 allow you to enable or disable Local Control, which determines whether the pads directly trigger the internal sound engine.
When using the TD module with DAW software, MIDI notes generated by pad hits may be echoed back from the DAW. If Local Control is set to ON in this situation, both the internal sound and the echoed notes may play together, resulting in duplicate sounds.
To prevent this, set Local Control to OFF. This disconnects the pads from the internal sound generator, allowing you to use the TD solely as a MIDI trigger for your DAW setup.
To change the Local Control setting:
- In the DRUM KIT screen, press the [MENU] button.
The KIT MENU screen will appear. - Press the (▼) cursor button to scroll the screen until the SYSTEM icon appears.
- Press the [F3] (SYSTEM) button.
The SYSTEM screen will appear. - Scroll down to MIDI, and press the [F3] (ENTER) button..
- Use the cursor buttons (▲/▼) buttons to select "Local Control".
- Turn the dial to select ON or OFF.
- Press [EXIT] several times to return to the main screen.
The setting is saved automatically.
