The following article contains troubleshooting information in the event that you're having trouble playing audio files on a USB flash drive.
- Be sure that the audio files that you're trying to import are compatible with the TD-11. The following is a list of audio file formats that the TD-11 is compatible with:
Note: Any other file format is not compatible. - You can put up to 100 song files in a single folder. If there are more than 100 songs in a single folder, the TD-11 will only recognize 100 of these. Put the additional songs into other folders with no more than 100 song files in each folder. For example: If you have 400 songs, these should be in 4 separate folders of 100 songs each.
- Be sure that the song files, and/or folders that have songs in them, are in the root level (top level) of the USB memory key. For example: don't put a folder inside of a folder.
- Single audio files of 2GB or smaller are compatible. Single audio files larger than 2GB are not playable in the TD-11.
- File names containing more than 14 characters or containing double-byte characters will not be displayed correctly. Try to keep the amount of characters at 14 or lower.
Additional Note: If you're sure you have a .WAV file or mp3 file that match this criteria and it still won't play in the TD-11 , then the file may have embedded metadata, or "tags," which will prevent it from playing. This can happen with files that come from DAWs ("Digital Audio Workstations"), other audio programs, or sample libraries.
You can strip this extra information from the file by converting it to Apple Lossless or FLAC format. After removing the information, the files should play in the TD-11. You can use various free programs (iTunes etc.) to perform this conversion.
