The following article will guide through connecting and setting up the VS-2480 and a DIF-AT or DIF-AT24.
Setup
- Turn off all devices.
- Connect R-BUS 1 or R-BUS 2 connector on the back panel of the VS-2480 to RMDB-2 connector on the back of the DIF-AT using an R-BUS cable.
Note: You must use a R-BUS or RMBD2 proprietary cable only. Connecting with other cables, such as SCSI connection cables, may cause damage and are not compatible. - - If audio will be sent from the VS-2480 to the ADAT Lightpipe device, connect a TOSLINK optical cable from the ADAT OUT of the DIF-AT to the ADAT IN of the external device. Note: In this case, skip to the followings steps and go straight to the "Sending Audio from the VS-2480 to the External ADAT Device" section below.
- If audio will be sent from the external ADAT Lightpipe device to the VS-2480, connect a TOSLINK optical cable from the ADAT OUT of the external device to the ADAT IN of the DIF-AT.
- If you'll be passing audio in both directions, two TOSLINK optical cables will be needed. Connect the ADAT OUT of the external device to the ADAT IN of the DIF-AT and then connect ADAT IN of the external device to ADAT OUT of the DIF-AT. - Turn on the VS-2480.
- After the VS-2480 project has completely loaded up, turn on the external ADAT device.
- On the VS-2480, Press UTILITY.
- CURSOR to PROJECT and then press ENTER.
