VS-2000CD: Stuck on “Now Loading” and Will Not Boot Up
If the VS recorder freezes up when operating the unit, won’t burn a CD properly or is not functioning properly, then the hard drive may be fragmented. Fragmentation is a naturally occurring process for a hard drive used with any computer or recording device. The only possible solution is formatting the hard drive. Formatting erases all data on the drive.
We recommend backing up all of your data and then formatting the hard drive to clear out this normal fragmentation. To avoid receiving errors and/or problems, format the hard drive every 3 months if the unit is being used constantly or every 6 months if the unit is being used only occasionally.

If the VS freezes up when attempting to backup, format or recover, then the fragmentation is preventing these operations. In this case, there are two remaining options:
