A "CD Full" message indicates that the amount of audio you're trying to burn to CD exceeds it's limit in minutes. Each CD's capacity is different but a common capacity for CDs is 70 minutes of audio. Note that this can also include recorded silence at the end of the recording--since the BR-1180 does not "know" that there's no sound there and just sees that audio is recorded.. An solution would be to move half of the track to a different track and then burn two CDs.
For example, if audio was recorded on track 9/10 virtual track 1 (i.e. 9/10-1) for 1 hour and 20 minutes of continuous recording, then move the second half of 9/10-1 to track 9/10 virtual track 2 (i.e. 9/10-2) starting at the zero (i.e. 00:00:00-00.00). Then burn 9/10-1 to the first disc and then burn 9/10-2 to the second disc. The following would be the track move settings for this example:
- Press UTILITY.
- Use CURSOR to select the "TRACK" icon and press ENTER.
- Use CURSOR to select the "MOVE" icon and press ENTER.
- Use CURSOR and the TIME/VALUE dial to select the Source and Destination track/v.track. In this example, audio was recorded on track 9/10 virtual track 1 (9/10-1) and the second portion of the recording will be moved to 9/10 virtual track 2 (9/10-2):
- Use CURSOR to select LOC (location) on the bottom right of the screen and press ENTER.
- Use CURSOR and the TIME/VALUE dial to specify the START, END, TO and FROM locations. Select "DISP" and press ENTER to switch between Measures, Time or Markers to specify the locations. In this example:
START (Start Point): 00:40:00-00.00
The starting location of the source data to be moved.
END (End Point): 01:20:00-00.00
The ending location of the source data to be moved.
TO (To Point): 00:00:00-00.00
We want to move the second portion of the recording (i.e. the START and END point) to zero so that when we burn this to a disc, it will begin playing and not have 40 mins of silence.
FROM (From Point): 00:40:00-00.00
This is a marker point that will be moved to the TO point. - When you have finished making the location settings, use CURSOR to select "GO" and press ENTER. The move is complete.
- Press EXIT several times to return to the main screen.
That's it. Now you have two halves of the continuous recording: one half on 9/10-1 and the second half on 9/10-2. You may now burn one CD using 9/10-1 as the source and a second CD as 9/10-2 as the source. Of course, this is just an example.
