The following article will guide through connecting and setting up a microphone with the TRI-CAPTURE.
Note: The TRI-CAPTURE driver must be installed prior to following the instructions below. You may download and install the driver for your computer's operating system here::
(Installation instructions are included in the download)
- Connect the TRI-CAPTURE to your computer via USB. Be sure to connect directly to the computer and not through a USB hub.
- Lower the PHONES knob completely counter-clockwise.
- Connect microphone to INPUT1 (MIC) on the back panel of the TRI-CAPTURE.
NOTE: Do not connect the microphone to the 1/4" jack. Connect the mic only to the XLR jack. - If you are using a microphone that requires phantom power (48 volts) such as a condenser mic, press the PHANTOM switch so that it's pressed inward.
- If the microphone has an ON/OFF switch, set this to ON.
- Raise the INPUT1 (MIC) knob to about 3 o'clock (pointed to the right).
- Press the REC MODE button until "ALL INPUTS" is selected.
- Press the OUTPUT MUTE switch so that the button is pressed outward.
- Press the INPUT MONITOR switch so that the button is pressed inward.
- Connect headphones to the PHONES jack or speakers to the L-OUTPUT-R jack.
Note: if you have speakers connected, be sure that their power is on and their volume is down at this time.
-
While singing or speaking into the microphone, and slowly raise the PHONES knob (if using headphones) or the volume adjustment on the speakers (if using speakers) to hear the microphone.
Note: The SIG light above the INPUT 1 (MIC) knob should blink green occasionally when singing or speaking into the mic. If it doesn't, try raising the INPUT 1 (MIC) until it does. If the problem continues, try a different microphone cable and/or a different microphone to troubleshoot. -
You may now setup the TRI-CAPTURE driver within your software for recording.
