Here is the procedure to adjust the balance between the audio files and the keyboard:
- Plug your USB flash drive into the FR-8X
- Press the Song list button to activate the audio player
- Select the song you want to play with
- Push the Data/Enter knob to load the file
- Use the Balance knob (Located directly underneath the charge button), to adjust the balance between the Audio file and the keyboard. If you turn the knob toward treble you will get more keyboard, and if you turn toward the bass, you will get more audio file.
To clarify why this works: The software update enables the balance knob to effect the balance between the audio files and the keyboard, as long as you have the audio player activated.

You can also use the "WAV/MP3 Level" parameter to lower or raise the overall volume of the audio file:
- Press the menu button **
- Scroll, using the data/enter knob, to menu 14, called System. Press the knob to enter the menu.
- Scroll to the page that says "audio settings (14.4)
- Press the data/enter knob twice, to highlight the "WAV/MP3 LEVEL" parameter
- Use the data/enter knob to select a lower or higher number - directly corresponding to how soft or loud the audio file will sound.
** There is also a shortcut to this parameter, achieved by simply pressing the down arrow from the main menu.
