To wirelessly connect your DP90e to an iOS device, you will need the following items:
- WNA-1100RL or WNA-150 Netgear Wireless adapter
- iOS Device (iPad, iPhone)
- DP90e
You can use the following instructions to make a successful wireless connection:
- Plug your WNA-1100RL or WNA 150 USB adapter into the DP90e.
- Enter Function mode by pressing the [Key Touch] button and the [Transpose] button at the same time.
- Scroll through the parameters, using the [Slow/Fast] arrows, until you see "Wireless" on the screen, and press the [Song] button.
- Use the [Slow/Fast] arrow buttons to select "Option", and then press the [Song] button.
- Use the [Slow/Fast] arrow buttons to select "Ad-Hoc", and then press the [Song] button.
- Press the [Fast] arrow button to turn the Ad-Hoc Mode "on".
Once in Ad-Hoc Mode, the Ad-Hoc SSID will show "DP90E". - Press the [Fast] arrow button again to display the "Ad-Hoc" key (a five number code).
This number code will be the WiFi password you will use to create a wireless connection between your iOS device and the piano. Write this number down. - On your iOS device, go into the WiFi settings menu and choose the "DP90E" network.
- Enter the 5 digit ad-hoc key (from step 7) as the password to the network.
- Exit out of the WiFi screen and pull up the Roland app you would like to use on your iOS device.
- Press "Connect Instrument", and select DP90E. You should be wirelessly connected and good to go!
- Press the [Song Balance] button to exit Function mode on your piano.
When you want to end the Ad-Hoc mode connection, restore the iPad settings to their previous state.
Note: Sometimes the Roland app won't find the connected instrument on the first try - showing "No instrument found" on the screen. If this is the case, please follow these additional instructions:
- Exit out of the app, and go back to WiFi settings.
- Select the DP90e Network that you've already logged into.
- Select "Forget this Network", and confirm that you want to do so.
- Go back to the WiFi settings.
- Reselect the DP90e Network.
- Enter the ad-hoc key password (from step 7 in our original instructions above).
- Go back to the Roland app, and it should find the instrument this time (sometimes it needs a fresh start).
