The following procedure will guide you through recording with with internal microphones of the BR-600.
- Lower the MASTER fader.
- Connect headphones to the headphone jack or speakers to the LINE OUT jacks on the back panel.
NOTE: Using headphones, and not speakers, is recommended when recording with the internal microphones. This prevents feedback from the speakers and allows for a cleaner recording. - Be sure that there are no cables physically connected to MIC 1 or MIC 2 jacks.
- Press the REC MODE button until the INPUT light is illuminated to the left of the button.
- Press MIC button so that the button is illuminated.
- Set the REC LEVEL knob to about the 10 o'clock position.
- Adjust the MIC 1 dial so that it's red PEAK indicator lights briefly at the loudest sounds when singing or talking into the microphone.
- Slowly raise the MASTER fader.
Note: If speakers are connected, be sure that their power is on and that their volume is turned up. - Select the tracks on which the recording will occur.
- NOTE: There are two onboard microphones (left and right) so recording will occur on two mono tracks (e.g. tracks 1&2 or 3&4) or on one stereo track (e.g. track 5/6 or 7/8). - Be sure that the selected button(s) are blinking--regardless of the color.
- Raise the fader(s) of any track that is already recorded--if you want to play/sing along to other tracks.
- Press REC and then press PLAY. Recording will begin.
- Press STOP to end recording.
