Most all current Roland pads are compatible with the SPD-30. For optimum trigger results, it's best to match the Trigger Type with the type of pad being used. Doing so "tells" the SPD-30 what type of pad is connected to the input and automatically optimizes the sensitivity settings for that pad. Here's how to select the Trigger Type for an external Pad:
- Press MENU.
- Turn the function 1 knob to highlight "PAD," and then press the function 3 button (ENTER).
- Press the function 2 button to select the "EXTERNAL" tab.
- Hit the external pad that you want to set the Trigger Type for.
- Turn the function 3 knob to choose the Trigger Type.
For example, if you have a CY-8 cymbal pad connected, choose "CY-8." - Press function 3 (OK).
- Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for any other external pads that you may have connected to SPD-30's trigger inputs.
- Press the BACK button when you're finished. The new settings are saved automatically.
