The following article will troubleshoot in the event that sound is heard only out of the left or right side of the speakers or headphones.
- Be sure that the MAIN meter is showing levels in both the left and right.
- If level is shown in both the left and right, audio is being output correctly from the OCTA-CAPTURE. Troubleshoot the audio cables connected to the speakers, the speakers themselves or try different headphones.
- If level is shown in only the left or the right:
- Be sure that the audio being sent from the computer software or from the device physically connected to the OCTA-CAPTURE is sending audio correctly. This will require troubleshooting either the computer software or the audio device connected (e.g. a keyboard, microphones, etc).
- Check the panning in the OCTA-CAPTURE Control Panel software.
- Open the software:
Windows: Click on the Windows (or Start) icon --> All Programs --> Roland folder.
Mac OS X: Open the OCTA-CAPTURE Control Panel from the Applications folder. - Click on the DIRECT MIXER icon on the top right of the screen.
- Then be sure that the panning is correct for the INPUT MIXER A (if using an external connected device such as a keyboard) and/or the WAVE OUT MIXER (if monitoring from audio software).
- Then be sure that the INPUT MIXER and WAVE OUT MIXER red master faders are both up for the left and right faders.
