Most of all Roland pads are compatible with the TD-25. For optimum trigger results, it's important to match the proper Pad Type with the type of pad that's being connected to the trigger input. Use the following steps to choose the Pad Type for a pad.
Note: If you have a TD-25K or TD-25KV kit, the Pad Type settings have already been specified from the factory, so there is no need for adjustment. You can use these steps if you've upgraded or changed a pad on the kit, or have an extra pad that you're connecting to the AUX or CRASH 2 input on the TD-25).
1. Press the function 3 button (MENU).
2. Press function 3 again (SETUP).
3. Press function 3 to highlight "Trigger Settings."
4. Press the ENTER button ("KICK" will be flashing).
5. Hit the pad that you'd like to set the Pad Type for.
6. Turn the INSTRUMENT knob to select the Pad Type. For example, for a PDX-100, choose "PDX100."
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for any remaining pads as necessary.
8. When you're finished, press the Function 1 button three times to return to the main menu. The new settings are saved automatically.
