Installing the UM-ONE mk2 driver allows it to be used in COMP mode, which uses Roland's FPT processing technology for faster MIDI performance.
Follow the steps below.
- With the UM-ONE mk2 not connected to your computer, set the switch to COMP, as shown below.
Do not connect the UM-ONE mk2 until instructed to do so. -
Go to the UM-ONE mk2 UPDATES & DRIVERS page and download the driver for your OS.
For Windows 10 and 11: Connecting the UM-ONE mk2 to a computer with internet access installs the driver automatically. In case the automatic installation does not work, run the installer downloaded in step 2 instead. Also, if you wish to install the driver on an offline computer, download the installer on another computer that has internet access, and copy it over using a USB flash drive or SD card.
- Unzip the downloaded archive and run the installer.
- Once installation is complete, set the UM-ONE mk2 as a MIDI device in your software.
Note: On macOS 11-14, the UM-ONE mk2 does not power on until a MIDI application is active.
