The TD-11 contains a MIDI Lock feature which prevents the MIDI note assignments for the pads from being changed. This is beneficial when using the TD-11 with the V-Drums Friend Jam app or the DT-1 Drum Tutor software as it insures all of the MIDI Note numbers are assigned correctly and provides optimum functionality with the software.
There may be instances when you want to custom-assign specific MIDI note numbers of your choice for each pad. When doing so, be sure to set the MIDI Lock to "Off."
Here's how:
1. Press MENU.
2. Press the cursor down button to highlight the "SYS" icon, and then press ENTER.
3. Cursor down to highlight "MIDI," and then press ENTER.
4. Cursor to "Std MIDI Setup Lock."
5. Turn the dial counterclockwise to choose "OFF."
6. Press EXIT when you're finished. The new setting is saved automatically.
After the lock has been turned off, you'll be able to assign the desired MIDI Notes to the pads.
