The following article will guide through setting up the STUDIO-CAPTURE (UA-1610) as the default audio interface for a computer's operating system. This will allow programs that use a computer's sound settings to output audio through the STUDIO-CAPTURE (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc).
NOTE:
- Be sure to connect speakers or headphones directly to the STUDIO-CAPTURE and not to the computer's installed soundcard.
- The STUDIO-CAPTURE driver must be installed on the computer prior to following the setup below. If you have not installed this driver, you may download and install the driver for your operating system by clicking here.
Windows 11:
- Click on the Windows (or Start) icon on the bottom of the screen.
- Click on "Settings".
- Select Sound. The Sound window will appear.
- Select the STUDIO-CAPTURE 1-2 for both Output and Input.
Windows 10 and Windows 8:

Move the mouse to the top-right of the desktop screen. The Charms bar appears on the right hand side of the screen.

Click on "Settings".

Select Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.

Select Sound. The Sound window will appear.

In the Playback tab, select the STUDIO-CAPTURE (or UA-1610) and then click on "Set Default".

Click on "Apply" and then click on "OK".
Windows Vista, and Windows 7:

Click on the Windows (or Start) icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the top right of the Control Panel window, select "View by..." as "Small Icons."

Open the Sounds devices icon.

Under playback device, select the STUDIO-CAPTURE (or UA-1610).

Click on Set as Default and then click on OK.
Windows XP:

Click on the Start icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Select Control Panel.

On the left margin of the Control Panel, select "Switch to Classic View".

Open the Sounds and Audio devices icon.

Select the Audio tab.

Under Sound Playback, select the STUDIO-CAPTURE (or UA-1610).

Click on Apply and then OK.
Mac OS X:

Click on the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

Click on Sound.

Click on the OUTPUT tab and then select the STUDIO-CAPTURE (or UA-1610).
