Threshold is a parameter in the EC-10 that adjusts how much force it takes to trigger the electronic sounds. A low value of Threshold allows for the EC-10's sounds to be triggered with lighter taps, while stronger force is needed to trigger the sounds with a higher Threshold value.
From the factory, the Threshold value is set to "1." Use the following procedure to adjust the Threshold value until it works best for your particular playing style:
1. Turn on the power.
2. Simultaneously press and release the left and right DEC/INC arrow buttons. The green SOUND VARIATION button will shut off, and the large red LED number will begin flashing.
3. Press the DEC or INC button to adjust the value (1-10). If desired, you can play the EC-10 to test the Threshold setting while adjusting it.
4. When you're finished, press and release the DEC and INC buttons simultaneously - the green LED will light, and the display will return to the original kit number.
Note: The Threshold setting returns to the factory value (1) when you turn off the power.
