You can manually create drum parts on the FA-06/08 if desired, but it is also possible to use the rhythm patterns that are built into the FA to quickly add a drum part. Here are the steps:
- Press SEQUENCER to display the sequencer screen. You can press rewind to start from the beginning of the sequence, or use the << or >> buttons to move to a desired position in your song.
- Press RHYTHM PATTERN to display the rhythm pattern play screen. You can find the desired rhythm pattern(s) you wish to use at this point. Press the Stop button to make sure that the pattern is not playing when you are ready to begin recording.
- Press the Record button to bring up the "Realtime Rec Standy" screen.
- Cursor to "RHY PTN SYNC START" and use the dial to set this to "ON." You are now ready to record.
- Press the Play button to begin recording. The selected rhythm pattern will begin at the beginning of the selected measure in your sequence.
- Press the #7 button under the screen to close the "Realtime Rec" screen. You can now use the #2-7 buttons under the screen to select different patterns to be recorded.
- Press the Stop button to halt recording when finished.
