The ES-8's Carry Over function (also sometimes referred to as "spill-over") is a feature that enables you to preserve the sound of an effect's decay over time, (e.g., delay/reverb tails) when you switch patches.
To enable Carry Over:
- Press DISPLAY/EDIT twice.
- Use the < > buttons to select the loop for which you want to enable Carry Over for.
- Press ENTER.
(Example using Loop 7)
MEMORY MODE:
If you desire to use the ES-8's Carry Over function for a delay effect, while changing from one Memory Location to another:
- Enable Carry Over for delay pedal's Effect Loop in Memory Location 2.
- Enable a delay effect Loop in Memory Location 1.
- Perform a Write operation for Memory Location 1 by pressing the WRITE button three times.
- With delay effect enabled, switch patches from Memory Location 1 to 2.
- Delay effect will decay naturally without getting cut off in the process of switching patches.
MANUAL MODE:
When working within a single Memory Location in Manual Mode, Carry Over is set up as follows:
- Enable Carry Over for the delay pedal's Effect Loop.
- Enable a Effect Loop connected to a delay effect.
- Switch delay effect on and off.
- Delay effect will decay naturally without getting cut off in the process of activating/de-activating pedal loop.
