Low volume levels on mixes or bounces are usually due to lower mixdown levels when Bouncing. In the BR-532, look at the master level meter while Bouncing and be sure that the meter is averaging as high as possible--without going over and distorting:
To view the level meter:
- Press EXIT a few times to view the main screen.
- Press the BOUNCE[ON/OFF] button until both the TRACK L and R indicators blink. The screen should indicate BOUNCE in the top-left corner and STEREO in the top-right.
- Press REC TRACK [1] to record on tracks 1 and 2, or, press REC TRACK [3] to record on tracks 3 and 4.
- The TARGET tracks are the destination tracks for the bounce. Select the channel and the v-track with the cursor and the TIME/VALUE dial. Don't forget which tracks were used as the destination tracks.
- Press EXIT.
- Use the PARAMETER arrows to select the bottom left of the screen and then use the TIME/VALUE dial to select "MST".
- Press REC and then press PLAY and let the song play through adjusting the track levels accordingly.
- While Bouncing, be sure that the meter is averaging as high as possible (Around 4 bars).
- When the song is finished, press STOP.
- Press the ZERO button to return to the beginning of the song and the press PLAY to hear the bounce.
- If the volume meter is too low, Bounce the song(s) again with the volume meter level higher. This can be accomplished by raising the individual track faders and/or raising the MASTER fader when Bouncing. This will allow the hottest volume levels possible to be Bounced.
- Hold down STOP and then press RECORD to save the song.
