The Trigger Balance knob on the back panel of the EC-10 adjusts the sensitivity balance between the head and edge sensors.
-Turning the knob counterclockwise toward the HEAD position makes it easier to trigger the head sound.
-Turning the knob clockwise towards the EDGE position makes it easier to trigger the Edge sound.
-When the knob is in the middle position (12 o'clock), triggering response is balanced for both the head and edge.
Tip: If the edge sound is heard when striking the head, this usually means that your palm or wrist is unintentionally striking too close to the edge sensor while your fingertips are taping the head sensor at the same time. If this occurs, adjust your technique so your palm or wrist is not near the edge sessor when triggering the head sensor.
