Sometimes it's useful to set up an external footswitch, such as the BOSS FS-5U, FS-6, or FS-7 to control the Tap Tempo function of a Delay, or other time-based effect pedal.
CONNECTIONS:
- Connect a TRS to TRS 1/4" cable from BOSS FS-5u, FS-6 or FS-7 footswitch to the CTL IN 1/2 jack on your ES-5.
- Connect TRS to TRS 1/4" cable from the EXT CTL 1/2 jacks on the ES-8, to the footswitch input on your pedal.
SETUP:
- Press the EDIT button.
- Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons until you get to the PATCH parameter category.
- Press ENTER.
- Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons until you get to the CTL Output enable page.
- Press Page right to get to the desired CTL output.
- Press + button to enable the CTL1 output.
- Press DISPLAY/EXIT once.
- Press Right Arrow twice to select the PLAY OPTION screen.
- Press ENTER twice.
- Use Left/Right Arrow buttons to place cursor under CTL1.
- Press +/- to select PLS (Pulse).
- Press WRITE three times to save changes.
