When setting up an Assignment to control one of a Target Track's assignable functions, you first choose the "Target Track", then set the "Target" to the function that you want to control - (i.e. Rec/Play, Stop, clear, etc.), and set the Source to the pedal that you want to use to control it (CTL pedal).
In this example, we'll setup an Assign so that an external footswitch, such as a BOSS FS Series dual-footswitch (CTL 1 or CTL 2), to control the Target Track's Record/Overdub/Playback functions.
- Turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose an initialized memory location to edit (INIT MEMORY/EMPTY).
- Press MEMORY.
- Press parameter right (>) until the "Play:Target Track" screen is selected.
- Turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose the Track you wish to control.
- Press parameter right (>) once to select the "Assign1 Switch" page.
- If necessary, turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose "ON." This turns on the Assign 1 switch.
- Press parameter right (>) once to select "Assign1 Source."
- Turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose "CTL1" for pedal B, or "CTL2" for pedal A as the Source.
- Press parameter right (>) once to choose "Src Mode."
- Turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose "MOMENT" for the Source Mode.
- Press parameter right (>) once to select "Assign1 Target."
- Turn the MEMORY/VALUE knob to choose. "TGT TR REC/PLAY" for the Target.
- Depending on the source you chose, press either the A or B footswitch on the FS pedal to start Track 1 recording.
- If you'd like to save this new Assignment to the Memory, press WRITE twice.
Tip: You can use these same steps to setup an Assignment to control other parameters using different control Sources.
Simply set the Target to what you want to control (Step 5), and set the Source to the
pedal that you want to use as the controller (Step 7) (EXP 1, CTL 1,. CTL 2, EXP 2, etc.).
