Here's an explanation of the differences between the Series and Parallel settings:
-When “PARALLEL” is set, the external effects sound and the direct sound are mixed.
-When “SERIES” is set, only the external effects sound is played and there will be no sound if the volume of your external effect device is turned down or if it is powered-off.
