The SPD-SX PRO contains a feature called "Pad Control" which lets you designate a pad (on-board or external) to perform various functions besides just triggering a wave file. For example, you can hit a pad to increment or decrement through the different Kits, or Start/Stop the on-board Click. Here's how to assign a Pad Control function to a pad:
- Press MENU.
- Press the Cursor < / > buttons to highlight the SYSTEM tab.
- Cursor down to highlight "CONTROL SETUP," and then press ENTER.
- Press F1[PAD tab]. You can also press F2[TRIG IN] or F3[FOOT SW] if you want to assign an external pad or foot switch to control a function.
- Hit the pad that you want to assign.
- Turn the VALUE knob to choose the desired control.
