The following article guides through setting up a R-05 with a Roland CS-15 microphone.
- Connect the CS-15 to the R-05's MIC port on the top of the R-05.
- Set the external mic setting to stereo:

Press the [MENU] button.

Use the

buttons to select “Input Setup” and then press the red button.

Use the
and
buttons to move the cursor to the EXT Mic Type setting and then use the
and
buttons to choose STEREO.

Press the [MENU] button twice.

- Turn on plug-in power in order to power the CS-15 microphone:

Press the [MENU] button.

Use the

buttons to select “Input Setup” and then press the red button.

Use the
and
buttons to move the cursor to the Plug-in Power setting and then use the
and
buttons to choose ON.

Press the [MENU] button twice.

- It's recommended to start with the MIC GAIN switch set to "H" (high) on the back of the R-05 to get a good volume level when recording.
If the audio is distorting, you can try setting this to "L" (or low). - Set the CS-15's on/off switch to ON.
