The TD-02 module allows you to change the USB Driver setting. The available options are:
- VENDOR: This setting requires that you install a Roland USB driver on your computer for the TD-02 module, and allows you to transfer both MIDI and Audio through the USB connection. This is the usual setting used when connecting to a computer via USB.
- GENERIC: This setting does not require a Roland USB driver to be installed (it instead uses the built-in driver in your computer's operating system), and is also referred to as "Class Compliant." This is a good option when a USB driver is not available for your computer, or when you are connecting to a mobile device.
Note that the GENERIC Driver Mode supports the transmission and reception of MIDI data only via USB. For streaming audio via USB, use VENDOR mode.
Here are the steps to change the USB Driver setting on the TD-02 module:
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Use the [◄] [►] buttons to select “SYSTEM”, and press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the [◄] [►] buttons to select "USBdrv".
- Use the [-] [+] buttons to select "VENDOR" or "GENERIC" as needed.
- Press the (DRUM KIT) button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.
If you change this setting, it takes effect when the unit’s power is turned off and on again.
