The following article will guide through recording a guitar or bass:
- Bring the BR-1200CD's MASTER volume fader all the way down.
- Connect either speakers to the LINE OUT on the back panel of the BR-1200CD or headphones to the PHONES jack on the front panel of the BR-1200CD.
- Connect the guitar or bass into the GUITAR/BASS (HI-Z) input on the front panel of the BR-1200CD.
- Bring the volume up all the way on the guitar or bass itself.
- Press the REC MODE button until INPUT is illuminated.
- Press the GUITAR/BASS button on the top left of the BR-1200CD so that it is illuminated red.
- On the top panel of the BR-1200CD, adjust the white INPUT SENS knobs clockwise for "GUITAR/BASS/INPUT 1/MIC 1". Adjust this knob until the red PEAK lights next to the knobs flash occasionally when playing the guitar or bass.
- Adjust the black INPUT LEVEL knob
on the left panel until the INPUT meter on the LCD screen stays between –12 and –4.
- Slowly bring up the MASTER volume fader level while playing the instrument. The guitar or bass volume will be output to speakers connected to the LINE OUT or the PHONES jack on the front panel of the BR-1200CD.
Note: If using headphones, adjust the headphone VOLUME knob on the bottom, front-left panel where the headphones connect to the BR-1200CD. - Press the TRACK BUTTON of tracks you would like to record to. The selected track button will begin to blink.
- Press the REC button and then press PLAY. The BR-1200CD will begin to record.
- Press the STOP button to end recording.
