The "V-Drums Friend Jam" and "V-Drums Friend Jam Kids" services were discontinued on March 31, 2018. If you're looking for a lesson app for V-Drums, we recommend trying "Melodics for V-Drums" by Melodics™.
If you're not able to get your V-Drums product to communicate with the Friend Jam software, check the following:
- Be sure the V-Drum module's MIDI transmit channel is set to MIDI Channel 10. The Friend Jam software will not receive on any other channel.
- If your V-Drums module has a USB Computer port, make sure the appropriate drivers are installed in the computer.
- When using the USB Computer port on the V-Drums module, be sure *not* to connect to a USB "hub," but rather a physical port on the computer.
- If you have a MIDI port on your V-Drums module (not USB), be sure the MIDI *OUT* port is connect to the MIDI *IN* on your MIDI interface.
- When using a MIDI Interface, be sure appropriate drivers are installed for it (if needed).
- Reboot the computer, and the Friend Jam software.
- Disconnect the USB cable ( or MIDI Interface) and reconnect it.
- Turn off the power on the V-Drums module, and then turn the power back on again.
- Try a different USB cable.
- Try using the Friend Jam software in a different computer.
