Once you have backed up your ES-8 via the MIDI Bulk Dump process, you can restore your settings back to the ES-8 if needed.
To Do This:
- Connect the MIDI OUT from your MIDI Interface - or Audio Interface that has an on-board MIDI out connection - to the MIDI IN port on the ES-8.
- Start playback in your DAW of the Track that you had previously recorded MIDI Sysex data onto.
The ES-8 will detect the incoming MIDI data automatically and once the data begins loading, it's screen will display: "BULK DUMP RECEIVING...." - When the process has completed, your unit's previously backed up settings will be restored.
