To accommodate Expression and Footswitch Control Pedals with a different polarity than the ES-8's on-board CTL/EXP jacks, follow these steps:
SETUP:

Press the EDIT button.

Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons until you get to the OTHERS Menu category.

Press ENTER.

Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons until you get to the Polarity (Pol) Configuration page for C1 thru C4.

Press ENTER.

Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons until you get to the Control Out port you wish to configure.

Press + to Invert the Control Port's Polarity.

Press WRITE three times to save changes.
