The contents of the System-8’s user memory and system memory can be saved to an SD card (Backup) or returned to the FA (Restore). We strongly recommend backing up all important data periodically.
BACKUP
Note: If you back up with a file name that is identical to existing backup data on the SD card, the existing data will be overwritten. If you want to save a new backup, you must assign it a different name.
- Press the MENU button.
- Use the Cursor </> buttons to select “UTILITY,” and press ENTER.
- Use the Cursor </> buttons to select “BACKUP,” and press ENTER.
- Assign a file name to the backup - use the cursor </> buttons to move the cursor and use the VALUE knob to select the character.
- After you have selected the file name, press ENTER. A confirmation message will appear.
- To back up, press ENTER button. If you decide to cancel, press the EXIT button. When the backup is completed, the screen will indicate “Completed!”
Note: Never turn off the power while a backup is in progress.
RESTORE
- Press the MENU button.
- Use the Cursor </> buttons to select “UTILITY,” and press ENTER.
- Use the Cursor </> buttons to select “RESTORE,” and press ENTER.
- Use the Cursor </> buttons to select the file that you want to restore.
- Press ENTER, then press ENTER again to confirm the operation.
- Power the System-8 off, then back on.
