If you find that when recording your Katana MKII via USB audio output to DAW audio software, if the audio level is a little low, here are some parameter options the user can adjust, to boost the incoming signal.
BOSS Tone Studio for KATANA MKII Parameters
- Open BOSS Tone Studio with your Katana MKII connected, navigate to the SYSTEM menu > go to and select the USB SETTING tab.
- Adjust the MIX LEVEL, EFFECT OUT LEVEL or DRY OUT LEVEL, to boost and modify the KATANA MKII USB audio output.
- An alternative option, also found in the SYSTEM menu, is to adjust the GLOBAL EQ so that LEVEL is higher.
- For an individual patch/CHANNEL, engaging one or both EQ controls and boosting the level of the patch/CHANNEL may also help.
DAW Track Level Adjustment Options
- Use a GAIN plugin to boost the incoming signal. Most DAWs have a stock plugin or there are a wide array available. Or use a flat CHANNEL EQ and only adjust the dB Level parameter.
- Post recording, you can 'normalize' any recorded audio using either peak normalization (adjust the recording based on the highest level of signal) or loudness normalization (adjusts the recording based on perceived loudness).
