The following are possible causes for the LS-2 not powering on:
- The INPUT jack doubles as a power switch, so it will not turn on unless the plug is firmly inserted.
- If you are running the unit on a battery, check if the battery has been depleted.
- If you are using an AC adaptor to power the LS-2, please check the following points.
- The use of an AC adaptor other than the specified one is not guaranteed to work; please use a BOSS PSA series adaptor.
- If you are using the BOSS PSA adaptor to power multiple pedals via the LS-2, check that the total current draw of those pedals does not exceed the output current of your PSA adaptor (200 mA or 500 mA). The current draw of BOSS effects can be found on the Specs tab of each product page. For the differences in PSA adaptors, please refer to "BOSS PSA adaptor: Specification Differences by Model".
If you are connecting to a BCB series (pedal board) that comes with a PSB-1U adaptor, make sure that the total current consumption does not exceed the output current of 2000 mA; see "BOSS BCB Series (Pedal Board) Specification for BCB series specifications" for your reference. Note that it is not recommended to connect the PSB-1U directly to the LS-2, as this may cause noise.
If after checking all of these points the unit still does not power on, it may be faulty. For repair inquiries, please contact your nearest dealer, or our support through Backstage.
