Unless the mechanical sound comes from the pedal unit itself as a result due to inadequate installation of the adjuster bolt or pedal failure, this is a normal phenomenon. You can check if you can hear the sound in your headphones. Moreover, the faster you press the damper pedal, the stronger the sound will be. This is the way an acoustic piano behaves, the V-Piano engine replicates every nuance of an acoustic piano, including the sound of the dampers being lifted from the strings by the pressing on the pedal (although there are no actual strings and no actual dampers in a digital instrument).
Unlike an acoustic piano, many sound parameters can be adjusted in your Fantom. You can also remove this Pedal Noise.
Here's how to set the the Damper Noise:
- Select the zone to which the tone is assigned.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Touch <TONE EDIT>.
- Touch the <PIANO DESIGNER> tab.
- Move the cursor to <Damper Noise> and edit the value.
- Set the value to 0 in order to deactivate the damper noise.
Note: The edited parameters are temporary. They are lost when you turn off the power. If you want to keep your changes, you must save the tone.
