The Gigcaster 8 has various functions that can be controlled from an expression pedal.
The following example guides through setting up an expression pedal to control FX1 CHORUS RATE on Channel 1. However the same steps apply to control other effect parameters.
Expression Pedal Setup
- First connect and setup the footswitch: Gigcaster 8: Using a Footswitch or Expression Pedal
- On the home screen, touch <> (MENU button). The MENU screen appears.
- Touch <FOOT SW> and then <GENERAL> on the left of the screen.
- Touch <CTL/EXP> and then touch <EXP>.
- Touch <A> to select the group.
- Touch each section to select the following settings:
CATEGORY: CH1
FUNCTION: EXP 1
MODE: MOMENT
MIN: 0
MAX: 100
The expression pedal is now setup to control any effect parameter that's assigned from Channel 1's effect master page . The "Effect Setup" section below guides through this setup.
Effect Setup
- Press channel 1's edit button .
- Tap the EFFECTS button to turn it ON (the button lights up green).
- Touch the EFFECTS CATEGORY button and then select the GUITAR category.
- Touch the gear icon on the top right of the screen.
- Scroll left and touch the effect master icon .
- Scroll down to "EXP 1 FUNCTION" and select "FX 1 CHORUS RATE."
IMPORTANT NOTE: Now we have to make sure that FX 1 is setup as a Chorus effect. - Touch the FX1 icon . Note that the icon can be any color or effect name--depending on what is currently assigned to FX1.
- Set the SW to ON. This turns on the effect.
- Set FX TYPE to "CHORUS."
The expression pedal will now control the RATE of the Chorus effect.
