Gigcaster 5: Using a Footswitch or Expression Pedal

This article details setting up a footswitch (FS-5U, FS-6 or FS-7) or an expression pedal (FV-500H, FV-500L, EV-30 or EV-5) to control various functions in the Gigcaster 5.

Gigcaster 5: Using a GA-FC or GA-FC EX

1. Connect one or more footswitches to the Gigcaster 5's FOOT SW jack on the back panel.
2. Set their mode/polarity switches by referring to the illustrations below.

Here’s how to specify which foot controller (footswitch or expression pedal) is connected to the FOOT SW jack.

1. On the home screen, touch <> (MENU button). The MENU screen appears.
   
2. Touch <FOOT SW> and then <GENERAL> on the left of the screen.
3. In FOOT SW, select "CTL/EXP."

There are four groups (A–D) each for the footswitch (CTL 1,2) and the expression pedal (EXP). You can assign functions to each group and control them at the same time.

1. Touch <CTL/EXP>.
   
2. Touch a control <CTL1>, <CTL2> or <EXP> to select the footswitch or expression pedal for which you want to set the function.
3. Touch <A>–<D> to select a group.
   
4. Edit the parameter’s value to the desired settings.
   Note: The settings you edit are saved as-is.
