Use the following procedure to import a sample from a USB memory stick or from the FANTOM EX's internal storage to one of the sample pads:
- Press the [PAD MODE] button.
- Press EDIT at the bottom left of the screen and then press SAMPLE PAD.
- Press IMPORT at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select the USB MEMORY tab if the sample is located on a connected USB memory stick.
Select the INTERNAL STORAGE tab if the sample was recorded and saved directly to internal storage. - Select the folder where the sample was saved and press [ENTER].

Select the .wav file to be imported and press [ENTER] or "IMPORT".
The SAMPLE IMPORT (SELECT DESTINATION) screen appears.Note: Here are the specifications for the audio files that can be imported:
- WAV: 8/16/24 bit rate, 44.1/48/96 kHz sampling frequency
- AIFF: 8/16/24 bit rate, 44.1/48/96 kHz sampling frequency
- MP3: MPEG-1 audio layer 3 format. 64/80/96/112/128/160/192/224/256/320 kbps, VBR (variable) bit rate. 44.1/48 kHz sampling frequency
- Select the destination pad for the sample and press EXECUTE at the bottom right on the screen.
- Press OK to confirm (this will overwrite the existing sample in that location).
If you do not wish to overwrite an existing sample, choose a different location/pad.
