The following article provides instructions for loading a WAV audio file as a One-shot loop on the RC-3.
Audio Files that can be Imported into the RC-3:

Maximum WAV file size is 1.7 GB (total of all files), maximum time is approximately 3 hours (total of all phrases), and minimum time is approximately 1.5 seconds.
Note: Other audio file types or are not supported. For example, MP3s can not be loaded to the RC-3.

Setup instructions:
- Power on the RC-3 by connecting a guitar cable to OUTPUT A.
- Choose a blank MEMORY location.
- Connect your instrument to INPUT A using a guitar/instrument cable.
- Record a loop on the RC-3. This acts a placeholder in order to setup the memory as One-shot.
- Hold down the [TAP TEMPO] button and press the [WRITE] button to setup the phrase as a One-shot.
- Press the [WRITE] button once again to save the phrase.
- Connect the RC-3 to a computer using a standard USB A/B cable.
- Windows users:
Within My Computer (or Computer), open “BOSS_RC-3” (or Removable Disk).
Mac OS users:
On the desktop, open the “BOSS_RC-3” icon. - Open the ROLAND folder and then open the WAV folder.
- Locate the MEMORY location chosen in step 2 above.
- Open the TRACK1 folder and replace the existing audio file with your desired .WAV audio file loop from your computer.
- When you’ve finished copying WAV file, disconnect the USB drive as follows:
Windows users: In the lower right of your screen, click theicon and then click “Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device.”
Mac OS users: Drag the “BOSS_RC-3” icon to the trash (“Eject” icon). - Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.
The imported WAV audio will be set to One/1Shot and is ready for playback.
