The EV-30 is compatible with a wide array of BOSS effects pedals and Roland keyboards, amongst other products in the BOSS and Roland ranges.
To set the minimum and maximum on your device, follow these steps.

Connect the EV-30 to your equipment with a TRS Cable.
A recommended TRS would be the Roland - RCC-3-TRTR | Black Series Interconnect Cable - Advance the pedal all the way, and on the connected product, specify the maximum amount of effect/parameter.

Return the pedal (back toward yourself), and use the EXP 1 and EXP 2 knobs to specify the minimum amount of effect. Set the MIN knob for zero for full range sweep, or above for less.
You can't use the MIN knobs to change the maximum amount of effect.
